Mary Patricia McConnon Berndt was born September 9, 1935, and passed away April 16, 2022. She is survived by her twin, Beatrice McConnon Hallinan, her sisters, Rose Catherine McConnon Taverni, Rita Jane McConnon, and nieces, a nephew, grandnieces and grandnephews.  Her parents were Mary and Patrick McConnon.

Mary (often called "Patsy" by her family and friends), lived in "522 East 159th Street", (This building housed many remarkable tenants). 

Patsy attended Sts. Peter and Paul's School, from 1941 to 1948. She then attended "Cathedral H.S." from 1948 to 1952. Patsy worked for the "N.Y. Telephone Company" until 1954. She trained at "Bellevue Hospital", and became a Registered Nurse.

Patsy entered "The Sisters of The Blessed Sacrament", founded by Mother Drexel, in Cornwell Heights, PA.. Patsy worked as a nurse and a teacher for fifteen years. She worked in a Navajo reservation as a nurse and a teacher in Gallup, and St. Michael's, New Mexico. Later, Patsy enrolled in "Xavier University" in New Orleans, and studied pharmacy.

After leaving "The Blessed Sacrament Sisters", Patsy continued pharmaceutical studies at "St. John's University" in Queens, New York. Patsy met Charles Berndt ("Uncle Chuckles") and they moved to Florida. They married and were involved with horseracing. Patsy practiced nursing in Miami. After Charlie's passing, Patsy enjoyed playing slot machines at casinos.. She was proud of her nursing career, missionary work, and her many adventures.
