“Fágann saol maith ina dhiaidh oidhreacht álainn.”
(“A life well-lived leaves behind a beautiful legacy.”)
From her Galway born Irish mother, Peggy inherited her love of life, joy and laughter, and from her Kerry born Irish father she inherited her gentle, kind and empathetic spirit. She left her legacy of all of those qualities with so many of us who were fortunate to have been her family and her friends, and all of the students she encouraged through their high school years.
As her “much younger cousin” I have only had her in my life for almost 78 years, and I was so lucky to have loved and been loved by her. So many memories, and so many of her stories never to be forgotten, and always to be missed is how much she, my brother and I would laugh when we were together. Peggy was a very special person, and she will be present everyday in my heart and in my thoughts.
