John F. McKeon of Blooming Grove, a retired Police Officer of the New York City Transit Police, having served for 24 years, and currently employed by Pepsi Cola as the Production Control Manager in Mt. Vernon, NY, died Saturday, June 28, 2008 in Orange Regional Medical Center, Arden Hill Campus, Goshen, NY. He was 66. The son of the late John and Rose Flood McKeon, he was born May 6, 1942 in the Bronx, NY. He was a graduate of Mercy College, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Emerald Society of the Police Department. A family statement reads: "Our father, Meg's and Allies "Googies" was an incredible man who made a difference in the lives of not just his family but his friends and colleagues as well. He was blessed with the ability to make all those he met his friends. His time and work here is finished. Please join us to celebrate his life!" Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Margaret McKeon, at home; his three children: Michele McKeon of Goshen, Leigh Ann O'Donnell and her husband, William of Goshen, and John Matthew McKeon and his wife, Regina of Florida, NY; his granddaughters, Meghan Rose O'Donnell and Allison Michele O'Donnell; his sister, Claire Tetta of North Carolina, as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert. Visitation hours will be held on Monday, June 30, and Tuesday, July 1, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Lippincott Funeral Chapel, Inc., 107 Murray Ave., Goshen, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 2, at 10 a.m. at St. John's R.C. Church, Murray Ave., Goshen, NY. Burial will be held in the Cemetery of the Highlands, Highland Mills, NY.
